Steve
Comstock, VP Upstream Technical Computing – ExxonMobil
Steve
is Vice President of Upstream Technical Computing for ExxonMobil.
This includes engineering and geoscience technical data, application,
infrastructure and user support for ExxonMobil's worldwide operations.
Mr. Comstock holds degrees in Math, Physics, and Geology from the
University of California at Santa Barbara.
He began his career with Mobil in 1974 as a geologist.
From 1974 to 1999, he held various professional and management positions
in Mobil’s domestic and international producing and exploration operations in
Denver, Dallas, Houston, New York, Fairfax, and Norway.
His assignments included positions of:
President and General Manager, Mobil Norway; International Exploration
Manager, Mobil New Exploration Ventures; Manager of Geoscience Technology, Mobil
Research and Development Corporation; Vice President, E&P Planning and
Technology; Vice president, Global Business Strategy, Mobil Oil Corporation, and
Vice President, Mobil Drilling.
While in Drilling, Steve learned to chew, spit (in an environmentally
friendly way), and cuss.
He has since given up two of those bad habits.
