POSC Well Log Viewer

Web-Based Well Log Viewer Demo

This is a Web-based demo application that allows you to directly view well log curves in a web browser, using Netscape Communicator 4.0+ or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0+. The well log data supported by this application are in POSC's WellLogML format. The log graphics is rendered using SVG, the emerging 2D vector graphics standard from the W3C consortium.

Adobe's SVG Plug-In Required

You need to have the Adobe Viewer Plug-in installed for your web browser on your system in order to view the well log traces. You can download the plug-in installer from Adobe's website. Before you run the installer, you must exit from Netscape Communicator or MS IE After the plug-in is (re)installed properly, please start your web browser and return to this page.

SVG Plugin Tests:
  • well log header, embedded traces
  • traces only
  • LAS to WellLogML Converter Demo

Your well log data must be encoded as a WellLogML file ( WellLogML Version 1.0 for the current implementation of WellLogViewer). If you have well log data in other formats, such as LAS, you will need to convert them to POSC's WellLogML format. POSC and Oilware have prepared a simple EzTools Demo program, that can be used to convert a subset (200 samples on each curve) of the data in a LAS file into a POSC WellLogML data file.
