XML Live!

POSC is actively developing domain specific XML for E&P data. Besides being hard to pronounce, XML isn't easy to see being used because its buried somewhere behind the screen, and looking at files just doesn't do it for most of us.

XML Live! is our project to show XML in realistic ways, and to unveil some of the inner workings.

Using Java and Oracle 8i

• Here's a slide presentation on what we've learned about using XML with Java and Oracle 8i.
• And here's a demonstration of how you can move XML in and out of Oracle 8i.  We use
  some of the domain specific XML files we've developed (e.g., SeismicML, WellLogML, etc.)
  to show how these can be integrated with an Oracle database.
