Emerging Component
Identification Technologies
Set to Make Big Impact on the Oilfield

Ian Binmore, Merrick Systems

Recent developments in systems and technologies to rapidly identify surface and downhole oilfield components will likely change the way that oilfield tubulars are purchased, managed and used. Furthermore, the implementation of rapid component identification (RCID) systems will likely accelerate the widespread adoption of portable computer power to rig-site operations.
