Meeting Minutes (for both locations)

Since the meeting rules stated that remarks would be "off the record", the meeting minutes are understandably terse. (The off-the-record rule was cited by several people as a big enabler for getting opinions and comments voiced by participants. The given reason for this was that people felt they were able to comment without worrying that others would infer that the speaker was presenting their "official company position".)

• Both meetings, independently, came to the conclusion that POSC needed to put a high priority on building up the POSC reference entity populations and also needed to add more examples to the Epicentre Usage document.
• Neither meeting suggested specific areas to concentrate on for reference entities, although there appeared to be general agreement that the well logging curve mnemnonics should be added.
• Participants agreed to provide POSC with scenarios which POSC could use to build additional examples for the Epicentre Usage document. These scenarios would be simple, english descriptions of an E&P process; e.g., making a well log interpretation.
• POSC agreed to concentrate on improving the reference entity population and Epicentre Usage Examples for the v2.2 release.
• Many participants suggested that POSC hold more meetings with this type of "forum" format.

Addendum (February 3, 1997)

Tom Gullman, Shell, mentioned the positive experience that Shell had with QDB Analyser. Several members asked for the address, and Tom promised to get it to POSC for the minutes. Tom has made good on his promise, and here is the information:
