POSC Document & Data Cataloguing Workshop

POSC hosted this third workshop focused on cataloguing practices for E&P documents and digital stored data. Earlier workshops on this subject were held on March 22 in Aberdeen and September 30 in Houston. Over thirty people participated in the current workshop, representing oil companies, service/software companies, regulators, and standards organizations. The purpose of the workshop was to understand the results of portions of Shell Expro's Discovery Programme and to determine how the industry might take this work forward including the evolution of supporting industry standards.

The Discovery Programme produced a uniform framework for access to information. Shell has shared these results with industry. The attendees discussed possible implementation pilot projects within companies, among companies, among trading groups, etc. to test and expand on the results and to validate these emerging POSC industry standards and associated best practices.
